    More kids, less teeth

    Research has found the more kids you have, the more teeth you lose. And it has nothing to do with your age, or how much money you make. So why does it happen? Researchers say women are prone to gingivitis when they're pregnant, which leads to serious gum disease and eventual tooth loss. And women with multiple kids have a tendency to forego their own dental needs for their kids. Read more about it here.

    If you're into art and gardens, don't miss the last day to see Botero, Chihuly and Litchtenstein at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Their sculptures and artwork are on display through Saturday only.

    The Athalie Range Park Aquatic Center is hosting a Swim-A-Thon Saturday to raise money for swimming scholarships in our community. Swimmers from Team FLA, in conjunction with the FLA Foundation wil swim up to 200 laps. (954-713-6388)

    Less overweight kids

    Good news. We may be winning the battle of the bulge with our kids. New numbers indicate the percentage of American children who are overweight or obese appears to have leveled off after a 25 year increase. Now, if we can just get mom to stop cleaning up what the kids leave behind on their plates. (that would be me) Read more about it here.

    Answered prayers

    Two New Zealand pilots have a great story to tell their kids someday. They ran out of fuel over a dangerous ridge, said their prayers, and then managed to land safely in a field, next to the sign that read "Jesus is Lord." Read more about it here.
