The big game is Sunday and of course we are all waiting for the commercials. My favorite part. This year is a little different with the economy, so we can look forward to cute rather than edgy spots, going for the funny bone. Here's a link to this year's Super Bowl's ads. You also have a place where you can vote for your favorite.

    Naked is good

Who likes to look at themselves when they're naked in the mirror? Certainly not me. But a self-esteem coach says we really should. Apparently too many of us fear fat and let eating disorders rule our lives. And that those of us who feel good naked are kind to others. You can read more about it here. I can stand in the mirror naked if the lights are off. Does that count?

    Chinese Good luck!

On this Chinese New Year Day, there are many things you want to do to have good luck, including don't clean today. Don't use that broom, you could sweep away your good fortune. Be sure to wear red, it's the color of good luck. And if someone gives you something in a red envelope(which is good luck), don't open it in front of them. That's bad luck. More tips here.

    Protect your plants!

When it gets this cold, don't forget your plants! Delicate ornamentals could get damaged with our temperature dipping into the 30's. If you've got potted plants, bring them in. If they're in the ground, cover them. And if they get damaged, don't trim off the dead part yet, that could actually help protect the plant from further damage. More help here.

    Overeating gene?

When it comes to cookies, I could eat the whole jar, the whole box, the whole enchilada so to speak. And now comes word from researchers that there is a gene that could be responsible for that. The FTO gene. They tested kids and found those who ate more cookies after a meal had certain variations of the FTO gene, a gene linked to larger body size. Could it be? I could blame it all on my genes? Read more about it here.
