Skeeter season
It's Mosquito Control Awareness Week, a time for us to remember that mosquitos want our blood. And the best way to deter them from biting is to remember the 5 D's: drainage, deet, dress, dawn and dusk. That's empty all outside containers of standing water, wear deet, dress appropriately and avoid dawn and dusk hours when the skeeters like to feed. Read more about it here.

Little Furry at work?
Today (Friday, June 20th) is Take Your Dog to Work Day! A time to show that dogs can do more than play fetch, they can roll over and play dead. Just kidding! I'd take my Golden Retriever to work, but she'd lick everybody and then jump on them when they have hot coffee in their hands! Hope you have better luck with your canine. Today is really to show that dogs need love and attention and can share as much joy as they give. Read more about it here.

Fancy menus = fancy money
If you head to a new restaurant and their menu has fancy typeface, more than likely you're gonna pay fancy prices. On the flipside, if it's easy to read, it's easy to prepare and easy to afford.

Bikinis turn men into ...
The headline reads "Bikinis turn men into boobs," and I couldn't resist reading the story and then sharing it. Apparently scientists have proof of something us gals have known all along; guys lose all brain power when staring at a woman's anatomy.
Study found sexy images rob the male brain of the ability to make wise decisions. That's why you see bikini clad women in front of very expensive cars. You can read all about the scientific study here.

Web use at work
Let's face it, we all do it at work. Personal e-mail and web surfing. While some may call it "cyberslacking," a new study finds it really does help balance job and life responsibilities. Boys versus girls
Who is harder to raise... boys or girls? When I see parents of boys I always give them sympathy. I have two girls and just a little drama in the house, but boys. Study finds they may not listen as well as girls, they are more action oriented, and they are more harder to raise early on, however girls tend to be less confident and more difficult to raise as preteens. So I may be getting sympathy in a couple of years when my girls are in the pre-teen years. Read more about it here.

Perhaps the most ironic complaint is people complaining. Read more about it here.
